101 Days To Go…Thank You Stanton’s & training update!

We would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Stanton, dear friends from Michigan, for donating to help support Athletes in Tandem! Your kind donation will help support challenged athletes to participate in competitive events.

Training:

Jan 23- Fantastic 5 mile run
Jan 24- Strength training & an hard 6.5 mile hill run
Jan 25- Graham ran 4 miles easy, Steph took the day off to rest her knee
Jan 26- Cross train, rode our bikes for an hour
Jan 27- Easy 3 mile run
Jan 28- 13.1 mile run & ran a new route that was mostly on unpaved surfaces.

After running so much on concrete/asphalt, Steph’s knee has been giving her a bit of trouble. Running more frequently on unpaved surfaces can help curb the amount of shock your knees receive & reduces impact on your joints.
Jan 29- Easy day strength training at the gym, enjoying a soak in the hot tub & a glorious visit to the steam room there!

Fun Fact
Since we have begun using an online resource to document our runs/workouts, we have roughly ran 357.92 miles since November! There are a few days here & there missing & we were not very good at first using it to record our distances or times, but now everyday we keep track of our workouts. We have been using Mapmyrun.com & it’s a wonderful resource to use, as it can map & calculate the amount of miles you run on the route you choose. We have been getting a few questions about how we track or figure out the distances we run & there is our magical site we use. We have also switched to wearing a new pair of running shoes! It’s interesting how quickly shoes break down after so many miles! We are thankful to have new cushion under our feet!

Thank you again to all of our supporters! We cannot thank you enough for your kind donations.
